HSUS invites you to join them on September 25th for a training on dogfighting & large-scale investigations with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office and the Humane Society of the United States’ Law Enforcement Training Center. Details below:
Date & Time: September 25, 2024 | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (one hour lunch break)
Where: SLED Forensics Lab – 4700 Broad River Rd, Columbia, SC 29210 (Auditorium)
Approved for continuing education units by the National Animal Control Association.
Approved for 6 hours of continuing education units by SCCJA.
Approved for CLEs by the Supreme Court of South Carolina – Commission on CLE and Specialization.
This training is open to law enforcement, field services, humane investigators, code enforcement, veterinarians, solicitors, and magistrates.
Topics covered:
1. Discussion on dogfighting and the link to other violent crime2. Important terminology, paraphernalia, aspects of a fight3. Evidence collection/documentation of a significant number of animals4. Handling, transport and sheltering live evidence5. Case management challenges6. Presenting cases in court
